WATERPROOFING AND ROOFING CONTRACTORS
Waterproofing Contractors: Warranties, Seasons and Collections
The first monsoon showers expose a terrace you waterproofed last year, and the customer calls demanding repair under warranty. Your records show a handshake and a rough bill, with no date, thickness or material batch noted.
We help the contractor handle the business side of this work: costing by system and area, warranty and site records, scheduling before the monsoon, and collecting stage payments and retention. We do not cover waterproofing chemistry, structural cracks or building defects. A qualified applicator, the manufacturer or an engineer decides those.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Work is rushed into a few weeks before the rains, so quality checks shrink and callbacks arrive exactly when the gang is busiest.
- 02Warranty promises are made verbally, with no record of the surface, material, coats applied or the date of work.
- 03Material is bought by the foreman from the dealer, and consumption per square foot varies widely across sites without anyone comparing.
- 04Quotes quote one rate per square foot, though preparation, cracks, parapets and drains change the effort needed on every terrace.
- 05Housing societies approve work through committees, so payment waits for meetings, and the final bill drifts beyond the monsoon.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01Job sheet recording area, system used, number of coats, material batch and date for each site
- 02Written warranty statement with scope, exclusions and conditions the customer must meet
- 03Material consumption per square foot tracked against supplier guidance and past sites
- 04Pre-quote site survey checklist covering cracks, parapets, drains and slopes
- 05April-to-June booking calendar with a cap on active sites per gang
- 06Post-rain inspection visit scheduled and recorded for each completed site
- 07Society and builder follow-up sheet showing committee date, approval status and bill due
- 08Dealer credit terms and a monthly check on material price movement
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Make a one-page job record with area, system, coats, batch and date. Fill it for your next five jobs and keep the paper or photo with the bill.
- Walk through your last year's customers and note who has called about leaks since. Check what records you hold for each. The gaps are your warranty exposure.
- Hypothetical example: if a callback needs two workers for a day and materials of Rs 3,000, each repeat visit costs more than Rs 4,500. A better pre-quote survey is cheaper than three of those.
- Open your April calendar and count how many terraces one gang can really finish before the rains. Say no or reschedule beyond that number.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A job record and warranty template that is signed at handover
- A quote worksheet that adds survey findings to the base rate
- A pre-monsoon scheduling calendar showing gang load and cut-off dates
- A post-rain visit routine and callback log for the owner to review
Not the right fit when: Start elsewhere if the leak comes from a structural defect, a drainage fault or a dispute with the builder; an engineer or lawyer should be involved first.
