PPE AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
Winning and Keeping Plant Accounts as a PPE Manufacturer
A plant safety officer asks for samples of gloves and helmets, and the purchase department wants a price, a delivery promise and a payment term before the trial ends. Your dealer is also quoting the same plant at a lower rate than you offered.
We handle the commercial routine: costing, rules for dealers versus direct sales, trials tracked through to reorders, stock planning for batch products, and collections from industrial buyers. Sales and accounts managers are trained to use it. Product standards, testing and certification need qualified bodies.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Trials are given away generously with no record of who received what, so there is no way to tell which trial became an order and which was only a free sample.
- 02Dealers and direct sales staff both approach the same plants, and rate conflicts leave the plant holding two different prices from you.
- 03Raw material costs for leather, rubber, fabric and foam move, but plant rate contracts stay fixed for the year.
- 04Seasonal demand for some products, such as winter gear or monsoon items, leads to over-production and unsold stock.
- 05Industrial buyers pay after long approval cycles, and a short payment due to a quantity dispute can hold back the whole bill.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01A trial register: plant, product, quantity given, contact, feedback date and order status
- 02Dealer versus direct rules: who may quote which plant, at what rate and what margin
- 03Rate contract review dates linked to raw material price movement
- 04Stock plan by product and season, showing reorder triggers and slow movers
- 05Dispatch checks and delivery challan matching with the plant's goods receipt note
- 06Receivables by plant and dealer with the document each payment waits on
- 07Sales visit plan: which plants are visited when, by whom, and what is asked next
- 08Cost per product with material, labour, packing and testing

Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- List every trial given in the past six months. Mark which became orders. If you cannot tell, the record is the first thing to build. Start a simple sheet today.
- Hypothetical example: you give 40 pairs of gloves free to each of five plants, costing ₹150 a pair. That is ₹30,000 given away. If only one plant orders, the trial cost is a large part of its first margin.
- Ask your three largest dealers which plants they quote and at what rates. Compare with your own quotes. Hold one conversation with each about who owns which plant.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A trial-to-order tracker that your sales team updates after every plant visit
- A one-page dealer and direct sales policy covering territory, rate and margin
- A seasonal stock planning sheet with reorder points for fast-moving items
- A receivables follow-up routine listing each plant, the pending document and the owner
Not the right fit when: This is not the right fit if you are dealing with a product failure, a certification issue or an injury claim. Those need testing bodies and legal advice before business routines.
