OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY CLINICS

Running an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic as a Business

A patient books antenatal care at your clinic, pays the first visit, and then you carry her through nine months of scans, tests and calls before the delivery bill arrives. Meanwhile the consultant is on call for a night delivery and tomorrow's clinic starts late. The business holds together only if the plan behind it is written down.

Our help with the business routines covers package structure, billing, the on-call and clinic roster, front desk scripts and follow-up discipline. We do not advise on clinical care, birth plans or anything about patient outcomes. Those decisions belong to your doctors and the rules of the medical councils.

Things you can do
before you call anyone.

  1. Pull the last ten delivered patients and put the original package quote beside the final amount billed. Mark each difference and note whether it was explained to the family. That list is your package-design brief.
  2. Ask your desk to read out, word for word, what they tell a new antenatal patient about costs. Write it down, then fix gaps with the consultant in one short meeting.
  3. Hypothetical example: a package quoted at ₹60,000 ends up at ₹78,000 after two extra scans and an upgraded room. If the family heard nothing about either, the gap is a communication problem, not a pricing one.

A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT

Start with the priorities
that matter most.

We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.

  • A written antenatal package and add-on price sheet with a script the desk uses to explain it.
  • A delivery estimate template that shows room category, stay and consumables as separate lines.
  • An on-call and clinic roster with a backup rule for the consultant.
  • A monthly clinic review sheet covering bookings, deliveries, leakage and unpaid bills.

Not the right fit when: Wait if you are facing a clinical complaint, a medico-legal notice or a registration issue under the prenatal diagnostic rules. A qualified professional has to deal with that before any business review.
