FSSAI AND BUSINESS LICENSING CONSULTANTS
Running a Licensing Consultancy When Every Enquiry Is Urgent
A restaurant owner rings in the morning saying an inspector visited yesterday and left a note. He wants to know what to do and how much you charge. If you take until evening to reply, he has already spoken to someone else.
We advise consultancy owners on how the practice is run: first-response routine, fee structure and scope, document tracking, who follows up with the client, and renewal reminders. We do not advise on which licence a business needs, whether it qualifies or what an authority will decide. The regulator and the qualified professional on each file decide that.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Enquiries arrive by phone, message and email, and nobody owns the first reply, so urgent ones wait while the owner is in a meeting.
- 02Fees are quoted by feel, with no clear scope, and the consultancy ends up handling extra documents or revisits without being paid for them.
- 03Applications sit with clients for documents, and files linger because staff do not know which ones are waiting on whom.
- 04Licences expire on dates that clients forget, and the consultancy loses repeat work because nobody calls ahead of renewal.
- 05The owner handles every difficult case personally, which leaves new enquiries unanswered while one file consumes the day.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01A first-response rule: who picks up each enquiry, within what time and what they say
- 02A fee sheet by service type with inclusions, exclusions and rate for revisits
- 03Application tracker showing stage, documents pending, last contact and expected next step
- 04A document checklist sent in one message so clients stop sending pieces over weeks
- 05Renewal calendar for every client with a call date set before expiry
- 06Time per file by service type, to see which services earn well
- 07Payment collected in advance and balance on filing, with a note of who chases
- 08A rule for escalating complex cases to the owner or a named senior
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- For the past week, list every enquiry and note how long each waited for a reply. Pick one person to own first response from tomorrow.
- Write the document checklist for your most common service on one page. Send it to every client with a file open on that service.
- Hypothetical example: you handle 30 renewals a year at ₹4,000 each. If only 12 clients renew with you because nobody called, 18 calls could be worth ₹72,000 in fees.
- List clients whose licence dates fall in the next three months and call the first five this week to offer help.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- An enquiry-handling script and log that records every call, message and response time
- A service menu with fee basis, scope and document checklist for each licence type
- A renewal and reminder calendar covering every active client
- A role chart naming who answers, who files, who follows up and who handles escalations
Not the right fit when: If a client faces a notice, a penalty or a question on eligibility, a qualified professional or the authority must answer it. We cannot advise on regulations or what a licence permits.
