TRADEMARK AND IP REGISTRATION SERVICES
Trademark Registration Firm: Fees, Deadlines and Case Tracking
A client's application has drawn an objection, and the reply is due soon. The fee you charged covered filing only, the associate who handled it has moved on, and the client expects you to deal with it as part of the original price.
We advise on how the firm runs. That covers how filing, reply and renewal fees are separated, how deadlines are tracked across hundreds of files, who does what in the team, and how clients are followed up. We do not advise on registrability or legal strategy. Your attorneys handle that.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Quotes cover filing, but objections, hearings, oppositions and renewals follow later, and clients assume they were included.
- 02Hundreds of live applications sit in different stages, and a deadline slips because the dates live in a spreadsheet only one person updates.
- 03Clients come in a panic after a notice and vanish after registration, so renewal reminders go unanswered and repeat revenue is lost.
- 04Associates draft replies from scratch each time, and the senior attorney spends hours correcting common mistakes.
- 05Small clients ask for many searches and opinions before filing, using hours that were never priced.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01A fee card that separates search, filing, objection reply, hearing, opposition and renewal
- 02A single case register with class, status, next date and responsible person for every application
- 03Reply templates for common objections, reviewed by an attorney and kept current
- 04A review rule for what an associate may send and what needs attorney sign-off
- 05A renewal calendar with a client contact routine well before expiry
- 06A rule on how many pre-filing searches are included in the quote
- 07Client communication after each status change, in a standard format
- 08Handover notes when an associate leaves, covering every live file
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Count how many of your registered marks come up for renewal in the next year and how many clients you have contacted about them. Start with the earliest.
- Hypothetical example: if a filing fee of ₹6,000 leads to a 50 per cent chance of an objection that takes six hours, price a separate reply fee at quote stage.
- Pick one weekly slot for a file review where every application with a date in the next thirty days is read aloud with its owner.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A fee card and engagement letter showing exactly what is included at each stage
- A case register and deadline calendar with daily and weekly checks
- A role chart for intake, associate, attorney and accounts with sign-off rules
- A renewal follow-up routine with message scripts
Not the right fit when: We cannot comment on whether a mark can be registered or on a dispute with another party. Those questions belong with a qualified attorney. We work on your firm's processes and commercials.
