SOLAR INSTALLATION COMPANIES
Rooftop Solar Installers: Quote Follow-Up, Crew Plans and Margins
A homeowner has three solar quotes on the dining table and calls none of them back. The installer who follows up on the third day, with a clear explanation of what is included, usually has the better chance.
We help installation companies run the sales and project side of the business: costing, quote follow-up, crew scheduling, paperwork tracking and collections. We leave aside system design, subsidy rules, net metering or electrical safety.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Quotes are sent as PDFs with a price per kilowatt, and homeowners compare the headline number without understanding what is covered, which pushes the installer to cut price.
- 02Enquiries arrive from several sources and the site survey is booked on whichever day is free, which sends the crew back and forth across the city.
- 03Installation crews are small and shift between sites, and a delay in material arrival leaves a team idle with full daily wages.
- 04Subsidy and application paperwork takes weeks, and customers call repeatedly for status because no one on the team owns the updates.
- 05The final payment is held back until the system is switched on, and approvals outside the company's control leave the balance waiting.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01Quote costing sheet per kilowatt covering panels, inverter, structure, wiring, labour, transport and margin
- 02Standard inclusion and exclusion list written in plain language for the customer
- 03Quote follow-up schedule at day three and day seven after sending
- 04Survey routing by area to cut crew travel
- 05Material arrival tracker and crew plan by site and day
- 06Paperwork tracker with each step, who owns it, and the next status call to the customer
- 07Payment stages tied to material delivery, installation and commissioning
- 08Referral and repeat customer list within a housing society or neighbourhood
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Review your last twenty quotes. Mark which got a follow-up call, which were won, and what reason customers gave for choosing someone else.
- Hypothetical example: a 5 kW system quoted at ₹3,00,000 against a cost of ₹2,55,000 leaves ₹45,000. A ₹20,000 discount halves it. Check your own quote against cost before agreeing to match anyone.
- Group next week's surveys by area and book them on matching days.
- Assign one person to update every customer on paperwork status each Friday.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A quote template with a plain inclusion list and a costing sheet that shows margin per kilowatt
- A follow-up routine with a call script for homeowners comparing quotes
- A weekly crew and survey plan arranged by area
- A paperwork and payment tracker the office updates and customers can be told from
Not the right fit when: Hold off if the issue is an installation fault, safety incident or subsidy rule question. Those need qualified engineers and the issuing authority.
