WINDOW, DOOR AND GLASS COMPANIES
Window and Glass Firms: Measured Quotes, Wastage and Site Dues
The site measurement is taken on a Saturday, the quote goes out the next week, and by then the architect has changed a window size. The glass is cut, the revised order arrives, and the first piece sits in the yard.
We help window and glass businesses with the commercial side: quoting from measurements, controlling wastage, planning fabrication and installation, and collecting payments. We leave aside structural fit, glazing standards or safety ratings.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Quotes are priced per square foot with a rough rate, and extra hardware, special glass, mosquito mesh and installation difficulty on upper floors are added without checking margin.
- 02Measurements taken by sales staff are sometimes re-measured by the fabricator, and the difference shows up as cut glass that no longer fits.
- 03Glass and aluminium profile offcuts pile up in the yard, and no one records how much material is bought against how much is installed.
- 04Fabrication and installation share one team, and a rush job delays the others, so promised dates slip and customers start to call daily.
- 05Builders and contractors hold back the balance until the entire project is finished, long after your part is installed.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01Quote costing sheet using actual rates for glass, profile, hardware and labour per window or door
- 02Measurement sheet signed by customer or site engineer before cutting
- 03Wastage record of glass and profile bought versus installed, per job
- 04Fabrication and installation schedule showing the real queue and promised date
- 05Breakage and replacement log with cause and who bears the cost
- 06Stage payment plan: advance at order, balance at delivery or installation
- 07Builder and contractor receivables list with promised dates
- 08Site handover form with a snag list the customer signs
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Take three recent jobs and compare glass and profile purchased with what was installed. Note the value of the difference and the reason.
- Hypothetical example: if a job quoted at ₹2,00,000 loses ₹16,000 of glass to re-cuts, wastage consumes 8% of the order. See what your last jobs show.
- Ask customers to sign the measurement sheet before fabrication starts on every order from now on.
- Write down this week's unpaid balances by customer with the last promise made, and call each.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A quoting template that prices by item and shows margin after wastage
- A measurement and approval form that locks sizes before glass is cut
- A weekly production and installation board that the sales team can quote dates from
- A balance collection routine for builders and contractors with a call schedule
Not the right fit when: Hold off if the problem is a failed installation, a safety complaint or a legal dispute with a builder. Those need a qualified engineer or a lawyer.
