ELECTRONICS AND APPLIANCE STORES
Running an Appliance Store When Prices Are Public
A family stands in front of the split AC, checks the price on a phone and says they will think about it. Behind the counter, you have a brand target to meet, a display unit that has been on the floor since April, and two installation visits to schedule for tomorrow.
We help you work out the margin you really earn per category, plan the stock you carry in peak summer and festival weeks, and organise delivery and installation jobs. We work with floor and service staff until it holds. Anything on product specifications, warranty terms or tax matters is outside our remit.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Brand targets and year-end incentives push the owner to book stock early, and the cash then waits on the floor through a season that did not deliver.
- 02Display pieces stay in the showroom for months and lose value, while the sales team forgets they are available at a discount.
- 03Delivery and installation dates are promised by the sales person on the floor without checking the truck or technician schedule.
- 04EMI and finance sales are pushed by staff, but the shop is not tracking rejected applications and cases where the customer walks out after the paperwork.
- 05Staff paid only on units sold may steer buyers to the model with the higher incentive, which can bring complaints and returns later.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01Margin per category after scheme, finance charge and delivery cost, not only on the invoice
- 02Season stock plan for ACs, coolers, TVs and washing machines, with advance purchase limits
- 03A display-unit register with arrival date and a plan for each piece
- 04A daily delivery and installation board covering vehicles, technicians and customers
- 05Finance application tracking: filed, approved, rejected and abandoned
- 06Return and complaint log by model and by salesperson
- 07Incentive structure that rewards the customer coming back, not only the sale
- 08Cash and credit-card settlement matched to the day's billing
START THIS WEEK
Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Take your five highest-selling models and work out what you earn on each after delivery and scheme claims. Share the result with your senior salespeople.
- Hypothetical example: an AC is billed at ₹38,000 with a ₹2,500 margin. Delivery and a free installation visit cost ₹800, so the real margin is ₹1,700 before any complaint.
- List every display piece with the date it came to the floor. Give each one a price and a date by which it should be sold.
- Ask the sales team to check the technician and truck board before promising any delivery date to a customer, starting today.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A category margin sheet covering scheme, finance charge, delivery and return cost
- A seasonal stock and cash plan with booking limits by category
- A delivery and installation scheduling board and a customer confirmation script
- A staff incentive note and role chart for floor sales, delivery and service coordination
Not the right fit when: This is not the right time if a brand dealership agreement dispute or a licence matter is unresolved. Take legal advice on that first.
