TILE, FLOORING AND BATHWARE DEALERS
Tile and Bathware Showroom: Mason Referrals and Project Cash
A family chooses tiles in your showroom on Saturday. On Monday their mason takes them to another dealer, whose rate is a little lower and who pays the mason a little more. The sale you spent a weekend on is gone.
We help you set referral terms for masons and contractors, track stock by batch and shade, and prepare project quotes with wastage included. We work with your showroom team until it holds. We give no advice on laying methods, material suitability or tax matters.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Masons and contractors decide where the family buys, and the dealer has no record of who sends how much, nor a fair way to reward them.
- 02Tiles of the same design differ by batch and shade, and a shortfall of one carton at the site can force the family to accept a mismatch.
- 03Breakage in transit and at the site is argued over after delivery, and the dealer pays for it without a clear rule on who is responsible.
- 04Project quotes for apartments and villas are prepared from area measurements that are often rough, and the final quantity differs from the quoted one.
- 05Showroom display boards and samples cost money and space, but nobody tracks which ones lead to orders.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01A mason and contractor register with referrals received and amount paid back
- 02Stock by design, batch and shade, with cartons counted at dispatch
- 03Wastage allowance in quotes, and the rule when the site needs more
- 04Breakage claim steps: who checks, who bears the cost, within what time
- 05Project quote format with area, wastage, adhesive, grout and delivery lines
- 06Advance and balance schedule for orders over a set value
- 07Display boards and samples, with orders traced to each design
- 08Supplier credit days against the time projects take to pay

Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- List the masons and contractors who sent you orders in the last three months and the value of each. This is the group you most need to look after.
- Hypothetical example: a flat needs 400 sq ft of tile and you add 8 percent for cutting, so the order is 432 sq ft. If the site later needs 20 more, the batch may not match.
- Write down what happens when a carton arrives broken: who checks it, who signs and who pays. Put it on the delivery slip.
- For the next five showroom visitors who leave without ordering, note the design they liked and the follow-up date. Call them.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A referral register and a clear, written reward policy for masons and contractors
- A batch and shade tracking format for the godown
- A project quote template with wastage and extras listed
- A breakage and delivery checklist for the dispatch team
Not the right fit when: This does not fit if the problem is a quality complaint on a laid floor that needs a technical expert, or a payment dispute with a builder that needs a lawyer.
