MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOLS
Martial Arts School: Belt Fees, Batches and Instructor Pay
A parent stops attending after the yellow belt because the next grading fee was a surprise. Your senior instructor teaches at two other schools, the uniform stock is low, and the Saturday batch is too big for the hall.
We help you set a belt-journey fee plan that parents see on day one, an instructor pay structure and a batch plan for the hall. We stick to running the school. Teaching techniques and certifying belts stay with your masters and federation.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01Grading, belt and uniform fees appear mid-year without warning, and parents who feel ambushed by costs are the ones who quietly stop coming.
- 02Senior instructors have their own following, so a pay disagreement can lead to a student exodus and a rival school down the road.
- 03The same hall serves kids, teens and adults, but batch timings were set long ago and no one has checked which ones are full.
- 04Dues are collected by the instructor in cash, so the owner cannot easily see who has paid and who has drifted away.
- 05Students plateau at the middle belts and drop out, and no one follows up to find out why.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
Where the work
usually starts.
- 01Belt journey chart with the expected fee at each grading, shared at admission
- 02Instructor pay linked to batch strength and retention, not only hours
- 03Batch fill by age group and time slot in the hall
- 04Fee collection through one tracked channel, with receipts
- 05Uniform, belt and equipment stock with a reorder level
- 06Retention at each belt, tracked quarterly to spot where members leave
- 07Trial class routine and a named person for follow-up
- 08Grading-day plan including examiner fees, venue and certificates cost

Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- List every fee a student pays between white belt and black belt, and add them. If that total surprises you, it will surprise parents too, so share it early.
- Hypothetical example: if 30 students leave after the third belt, and each would have paid ₹2,000 a month for another year, that is ₹7,20,000 a year at risk. Find out why they go.
- Pick the three students who left most recently and call them. Ask what made them stop, and write the answers down without defending the school.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A belt journey fee sheet that parents receive at joining
- An instructor pay and succession framework
- A hall timetable review with a proposal for batch changes
- A monthly dues and retention report by belt level
Not the right fit when: Come back later if an injury claim, federation dispute or conduct complaint is open. Your governing body and a qualified adviser must handle it first.
