TENNIS ACADEMIES
Tennis Academy Owner: Court Hours, Coach Hours and Pricing
A parent asks for two private lessons a week on court three at six in the evening, a slot your group batch already uses. The head coach is booked solid, the clay needs resurfacing, and last month's ball bill surprised you.
We help you price court-hours and coach-hours together, design batches that use both well, and keep a maintenance and ball budget. The advice stays on the business side. We do not coach players or choose tournament entries.
Discuss your priorities ↗COMMON CHALLENGES
The pressures
we often see.
- 01A court is sold by the hour, a coach is paid by the hour, and a private lesson uses both, yet pricing was set from what the club down the road charges.
- 02Group batches fill unevenly, and a four-player batch occupies the same court and coach as a ten-player batch, with very different margins.
- 03Surface repairs, nets, lighting and balls are paid as they come, so a resurfacing bill can wipe out a month's surplus.
- 04Strong junior players want more coaching than their fee covers, and the head coach gives extra time informally, which is never recorded or charged.
- 05Weekday daytime courts are quiet, and tournaments, exams and weather create further gaps no one has planned for.

Things you can do
before you call anyone.
- Work out what one court-hour really costs you, adding rent share, lights, upkeep and a share of the surface cost. Compare it with the lowest fee you now charge.
- Hypothetical example: if a court-hour costs ₹300 and a coach-hour ₹500, a private lesson costs ₹800 before overheads. A group batch of six paying ₹400 each earns ₹2,400 for the same hour.
- Ask the head coach to list every informal extra session given in the last month. Decide which will be priced and which will stop.
A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT
Start with the priorities
that matter most.
We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.
- A court-hour and coach-hour costing sheet with a price ladder
- A batch plan showing size rules and which slots to merge
- A surface and consumables reserve plan with a yearly budget
- A coach roster and weekly dues and attendance review
Not the right fit when: Wait if the court lease, a surface warranty claim or a partner dispute is unresolved. Those need the landlord, the contractor or a lawyer first.
