BUSINESS GROWTH
Can Your First Branch Run Without You? A Readiness Check Before You Open the Second
The lease for the second branch is on your desk. At the first branch, the cashier still phones you when a customer asks for a price that is not on the list, and the stock count waits for your Saturday visit.
We test the business you already have against a readiness list. Who runs the first site on a day you are away? How many months of losses can the new site be given? Which tasks still need you? This page is about readiness. Whether customers in the new place will come is Market & Competitor Analysis, under Business Strategy, and comparing several moves side by side is the Business Growth page.
Book a first callWHAT WE DO
The work,
step by step.
- 01Write the move in one sentence with the date you would sign or open, so the check has something to test
- 02Spend a day at the first site, or two if the shifts differ, and list every task that waits for you or pulls you in by phone
- 03Name who could take each task, what rule they would need and how long the handover would take
- 04Identify who would run the new site and who covers their present job while they do
- 05Read the first site's last six months for stability: late deliveries, complaints, stock gaps and rework
- 06Work out how many months the new site can lose money before cash runs short, using your own opening costs and ramp-up assumptions
- 07Set a go, wait or stop line for each gap, with a date and the work that turns a wait into a go
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
Outputs you
can use.
- A readiness sheet listing each test, the evidence found and a result of ready, not yet or no
- A list of tasks that still need you, each with a named person and a handover date
- A cash cover note: the months of loss the business can carry and the assumptions behind it
- Go, wait and stop lines with dates, and what to fix at the first site before any lease is signed
Final deliverables depend on the agreed scope.
CHOOSE THIS IF
The lease or franchise papers are on your desk and the first site still calls you with questions it should settle itself. Choose Market & Competitor Analysis instead if the doubt is whether customers in the new place will come, and Business Growth if you are comparing several moves rather than testing one.
