MSME AND BUSINESS FINANCE PROVIDERS

MSME Lending: How to Run a Faster, Tighter Loan Pipeline

A manufacturer needs working capital before a festival order ships. He gives your field officer a bundle of papers on Monday. By Thursday the file has moved between three desks, nobody has told him what is missing, and his CA has found another lender.

We help owners of business finance firms tighten the operating routine: file stages with named owners, field staff roles, document checklists and the collection review. We do not advise on credit decisions, interest pricing or regulatory compliance. Your credit committee, lawyer and the regulator decide those.

The pressures
we often see.

OUR FOCUS AREAS

Where the work
usually starts.

START THIS WEEK

Things you can do
before you call anyone.

  1. Take ten recent files and note the date each moved between stages. Add up the waiting days. The longest wait is where you start, not the stage you suspected.
  2. Hypothetical example: ten files took 60 days in total, from first meeting to decision. Of that, 28 days were spent waiting for documents the borrower was asked for in three separate calls.
  3. Phone two referrers who sent you files recently and tell them where their files stand. Note what they say about your speed and communication, and share it with the team.

A PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT

Start with the priorities
that matter most.

We begin by understanding how your business runs today, find the gaps, and agree the scope in writing. Recommendations are shaped around your team, your resources and your goals.

  • A pipeline stage sheet with owners and days-in-stage columns, reviewed in a weekly 30-minute meeting
  • Loan-type document checklists and a script for the field officer's first meeting
  • A role chart for field, credit and operations with handover rules and a revised incentive proposal
  • An early-overdue call routine and a monthly one-page owner report

Not the right fit when: Not the right start for a credit loss, a regulatory notice or a borrower dispute. Take those to your credit committee, a lawyer or the regulator.
